WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY TAMIL SOCIETY WEBSITE!

Cambridge University Tamil Society is a society for Tamil and Non-Tamil students alike to explore and celebrate Tamil Culture. CU Tamil Society is a home away from home for many of our members.

WHAT DO WE DO?

1. Cultural Exploration and Celebration

We host a diverse range of events and activities that allow students to immerse themselves in Tamil culture. From traditional festivals like Pongal to engaging workshops on Tamil scripture, we provide a platform for cultural exchange and understanding.

2. Social Events

Our society is a hub of social activity at the university. Throughout the academic year, we organise and host various events, including our highly anticipated annual ball, which attracted around 130 attendees last year. These events provide students with opportunities to make friends, network, and create lasting memories.

3. Talent Showcases

We encourage artistic expression and talent within our community. Our talent shows offer students a platform to showcase their skills in music, dance, and other creative arts.

4. Collaborations

We actively collaborate with other university societies, fostering a sense of unity and diversity. These partnerships lead to unique and engaging events that attract a broad audience.

5. Engagement with the Wider Tamil Community

Beyond the campus, we are dedicated to reaching out to the broader Tamil community. Our initiatives include Year 11 and Year 12 Access Conferences, where we guide state school students on pursuing higher education at Cambridge and provide application advice.
